I am currently on Bloody Bones. I honestly love these books. But this is driving me bananas...does Anita ever fall for jean-Claude? Does he ever give her the 4 marks? Because I really, really want that to happen. NOW. Heh. Please, spoil away!

I have just started Cerulean Sins now and yes, lots of stuff has happened but what I really want to know now is...does Jean Claude ever give Anita the 4th mark? I ask because she has come to terms with the fact that she is indeed his human servant, so why not the 4th mark? MUST. KNOW. ANSWER. lol.

It's been so long since I started the series, that I honestly couldn't remember if he had given her the fourth mark or not, but I just finished reading Skin Trade, and the issue is raised again in this novel.

******************************CAREFUL SPOILERS AHEAD
She didnt actually get the 4th mark from the other guy... I think she got like up to the 2nd mark and it overrode Jean Claude.
I read the first 16 books twice and the 17th once. Im so gonna read it all again VERY soon :)
I love this series
and after so many people criticized the last few books, Skin Trade came out and showed how brilliant LKH is :)

The books changed their tone a LOT from the beginning to end of the series. I can't say I didn't enjoy all the books (Loved them) but I can see how there are a lot of critics. The series began as a thriller. Anita was a badass vampire hunter, completely individual and the "strong heroine" her character changed a lot over the course of the books to where she became a completely different person- something she never could have forseen herself as in the first few books.

That is incorrect Larissa. She had the 4th mark from the other vampire, but she killed him. She only has up to the 3rd mark from Jean-Claude in the newest book.
Btw spoiler warnings in your post are kind of useless if there already is a spoiler warning in the thread title.

Just finished Flirt.
Way too short and I'm starting to go into Jean Claude withdrawal, but the story itself was pretty good.

Yeah, but keep in mind that the book wasn't even planned ;). We get Bullet in a few months too.

I've been trying to get all the Anita Blake novels. I recently reread Micah and Narcissus in Chains. I really need to get them all so that I can read them in order.
Btw: I just read though the little preview for Bullet and wish it came out sooner. (I'm running out of books to read again (sigh)).

I aboslutely LOVE these books but after Obsidian Butterfly it seemed like every book was an orgy-fest. But that doesn't mean I still don't love them!

Just finished Hit List. I really enjoyed it (despite the lack of JC). Has anyone else read it yet? Some reviewers complained about the ending being "too easy" but I thought it was refreshing to have an ending that wasn't dragged out.

I thought she got the fourth mark in the 12th book, when Anita, JC and Richard first did the wild-thing 3-some together. (about 3/4 of the way through the book). She says before they start, they she doesn't want the fourth mark, but then JC gives her this big speech about how they are responsible for so many people not just themselves and it is important that they go forward with the mark. and she says in her mind that he is right, but no one really admits anything out loud... It's hard to remember it all, I think the 12th book was one big sex fest.
