This is great. I've been wishing for this for a long time.

What would be *extra* great is if one of the query parameters was for tags, to only retrieve books from your library with certain tags. This helps build widget-y things for all sorts of purposes (whatever you use tags for), like "currently reading" or "to read" or about a particular subject or whatever.

Yes, I agree. That's a good idea. I'm going to work on it now.

Thanks -- tags are my main way of pulling out sublibraries!

Hi. I don't code, but have wondered if it would be possible to search LT tags from a widget on an intranet page, for example...? It sounds like an API that queries tags is how that would be done? Anyway, if so, I vote (as many times as possible) for that critter!

I work with a nonprofit that uses LT for around 1200 resources right now with a dedicated taxonomy, and if I could get something like an LT tag search into their workspaces without them having to interrupt work to actually navigate to LT, then search through the LT page (which is unfamiliar to most of them) - that would be just great!!!

Check the LibraryThing API group. There is such a beast.

Errm, Chris, we're in the LT API group.

Ah...so we are. I'm jumping around so many groups right now that I can't keep track. Such is my burden. :)

I'll let somebody here answer the question of whether they have made such a widget yet. I must admit to not following the API development stuff as closely as I should have been. Too many pans in the fire for me.
