KEEPING THE WORLD AWAY (Margaret Forster)

On the whole we all enjoyed reading Margaret Forsters interconnected stories which fanned out of the central story based on the life of the artist Gwen John.

We had discussions about the ownership of art, what drew a person to a particular painting. About the work of Gwen (some readers didn't realise she had been a practicing artist and wondered if she was a fictional character).

Gwen John by Sue Roe is an interesting biography, and I suspect a source for Forster.
