"Audiobook" Subject heading is a pain

Hi - Been reading through the (old) discourse on the subject of ...well, subjects.

This only has become an issue recently as I have sought to indicate audiobook versions of some of the books in my library without adding a separate audiobook record. It seems when I was importing some of the records for my books it pulled data from some source that incorrectly included an "Audiobook" subject (example here https://www.librarything.com/work/2233624/details/227995767). The problem is that if I include a local note indicating there is an audiobook version in my library, a search for "audiobook" will return not just the books with the local notes including "audiobook," but also the records with the incorrect "audiobook" subject heading. (Note: I also have tagged them as "Audiobook" which is one way to separate them out, but I am trying to make things as simple for the patrons as possible and cover all the bases - plus it just bugs me that if somebody searched "audiobook" I would have to tell them that most of the records that show are incorrect and I can't fix it.)

I have looked at messages on this group from over a decade ago about user complaining about not being able to remove incorrect subjects, or at least flag them, for book level details. I really don't want to have to go through and reenter all of these books from a different source just to remove this incorrect subject. I also don't want to remove the subject field from the TinyCat record as it is otherwise extremely helpful in finding similar resources. Has there been a process developed to flag or edit these mistakes?

Thanks!

Reentering the book won't help, as subjects get carried over to other books in the work. In your example, all the subjects are green, which means that they are nor actually in your record. In fact you entered from Amazon which does not include subjects.

Default search searches in 'most fields'. You can limit it to just comments. There's a drop-down menu you can open for that. For detailed search tips https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/%22Your_books%22_Search

>3 SandraArdnas: Yes! This seems to work! Thank you!

....Still wish we had a way to clean up the Green-headed subject list

>2 MarthaJeanne: Would it not work if I deleted the record from my collections then reentered the same book using a record from LOC or Overcat instead of Amazon?

>5 SHC_Library: No. Any subjects on the work that were not in your record would show as green, the same as now.
