Why do you think the Turkish ship wanted Meliha and was prepared to go into battle for her?

Did they want her that badly, or was she simply the excuse?
I know she may be the key to bringing down the Grey Wolves, given what she knows and is trying to do to get her father released, but I don’t see that they necessarily need to capture her to stop her. Blowing the Oregon out of the water would stop her and the ship in their tracks - no more problem.
I think the Wolves want to know who and what the Oregon is about, before deciding if this is all they need worry about or if they need to dig further.

I think they are threatened by what she knows. The fact that she's a journalist would make give any report more weight. I also think their ultimate goal was to capture the Oregon and use its technology.

The Grey Wolves wanted her and told the Turks a false flag story to get them to go after her.

>5 JohnDBurke: I like this interpretation, but I also think that her being a journalist is a threat to the bad guys' interests and they want to silence her.
