I came across an interesting read on www.news24.com and Sanderson's blog today...
"Brandon Sanderson, author of Elantris and currently completing Robert Jordan's epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time, was livid today when it became apparent that one of his close friends leaked information regarding the final instalment in the series.
The leak regards some of the main plot lines and sheds light on some of the more interesting theories in the series that have never been adequately explained.
Sanderson on his blog, 1 April 2008, revealed that he was "distressed" and "betrayed" by a close friend who had been privy to the information."
Apparently the info leaked runs something along the lines of the following:
1) Asmodean: he makes a return in the final book as Mazrim Taim.
Apparently the Is Taim Demandred thing was just a smoke screen.
2) Elayne gives birth to a perfect pair of twins, one of which will eventually become Gaidal Cain. The other was supposed to be Birgitte, but can't be (obviously), thus a new heroin is born.
3) Mat not only invents gunpowder, he alos invents the first flying machine, with the help of Rand's school in Caemlyn. The design is based on the seanchan raken.
4) Perrin is deserted by the wolves due to his dependance on Faile and the fact that he sacrificed so many of them to save her. They feel it is a betrayal that can not be forgiven. Perrin joins the Way of the Leaf in repentance.
5) Sammael is alive and kicking in the White Tower as deposed King of Illian Mattin Stepaneos. He has however repented and joined the forces of the Light once more and is instrumental in defeating Mesaana and the Seanchan in the battle for the White Tower.
Quite interesting I must say. Thoughts?

Must say that making up that "news report" took a hell of a lot more effort than my standard arb theory posts.
