Easton Press opportunistically tapping into demand :D:

I wonder if the price isn't a tad too high though...; $179-$199 (+tax) may have been a more reasonable choice.

Cost me $80 used back in 2011 but I eventually replaced it with the LEC original for $40.

For almost $300 inclusive of tax, EP could at least include a basic monogrammed cloth slipcase...

What is interesting, is that apparently EP has the gilt design plates and circumstances permitting, they can reprint older editions on a relatively short notice... With FS offering Jurassic Park and Sharpe's Tiger in their Christmas Collection, it would not surprise me if EP re-released unsigned edition of Jurassic Park perhaps paired with The Lost World in a nice black slipcase or reissued a slipcased Sharpe's India Trilogy :)...

>4 EPsonNY: I like the idea of a Sharpe India trilogy.

This is greedy on the part of EP. They reissued it at this crazy price because of MGM’s socially responsible commentary on the movie Gone With the Wind. This summer nostalgic collectors of the good old times (white supremacy and slavery) snatched up this novel on EP and Franklin as if it were scarce toilet paper during a pandemic. I sold mine to someone in the Southern States. The EP edition is a crappy edition. If you want this book in leather seek out the excellent Franklin Library editions. Probably the patron edition is the best.
