Does what Harry found out about the two killers make the police look incompetent in handling the original case?

Not at all. 2 victims vs 9...it just looked like the same killer until they found the woman buried in concrete and only makeup for 9 women in Church's apartment. Almost the same but a killer using anothers' methods to establish his own fame and glory.

I don't think the police were incompetent. It just changed that there could be two killers when they found the blonde that was buried in the concrete which is different from the original 9 killings.

No. 2 out of 11 with a 'slightly' more violent MO would not stand out. I think the police can be excused for not looking to assign these to a different killer. The crosses on the toenails would be a heavily deciding factor.

I don't think so. If what Harry said is true this second killer is very smart and covering his tracks. Not only covering his tracks, but pointing them in the direction of the first serial killer. Very smart.

No, I don’t think so. I think they were just “too close” to the situation and had stopped looking at it objectively due to the pressure to close the case. Also, the 2 killers had the same signature so why would they think there were two when that is not a typical situation with serial killers.

I agree with you all. I feel like the second killer wasn't a partner, he was someone who wanted to specifically kill porn stars and used Church's killings to hide them.

Agred. No misstep or oversight on the part of the police. A very clever 2nd killer. I wonder why he came forward now? He didn’t want attention before, so what happened that made him want to reveal himself. Curious to know...
