Any thoughts about the chapters involving the boy, the breakfast and the papers? What are your thoughts about Ricky’s Father?

I'm a question ahead. My husband says the torture and then periods of kindness is an interrogation tactic that is used on political prisoners and others of that kind. It gives the detainee a moment of hope before things revert back to what they were or even worse. I'm trying NOT to think of Ricky's father. As I said one question back...I think he arranged this abduction. Otherwise how could any parent NOT report their child missing?

The Monster told Ricky about his arrangement with his father but I do wonder if maybe that was another way to torture him. Perhaps Ricky's father thought his son was safe with someone from school...I hope.

By now his father should have reported him missing so i suppose it is true that he doesn’t want him.

I'm reserving judgment on Ricky's father, Carter may be setting us up for a few twists yet.

I feel like there has to be a twist here. No one, even most idiots, would have a few drinks then ask a stranger to kill his kid. Haven't they ever watched TV or heard of undercover cops.
