What did you think had happened to those who had taken communion? Why kill them all?

The ones who took communion were outwardly professing their Catholic faith and that's why they were killed.

I thought at the time they were being poisoned. I think they wanted to make a huge statement that woud make people wary about attending church.

I thought they were poisoned. I assumed it was to strike at the Catholic Church

I surmised that there'd been something in the wine or wafers of the Communion which was then activated by the pulse from whatever the lead monk had had placed on the sides of the reliquary. I've reread the passage and can't see that the timings would point to anything else; if the wafers or wine alone were to blame, then the congregation would have started suffering at incremental periods, but they all went at the same time, so the 'pulse' that Jason felt must have been the killing blow.
Obviously aimed at Catholics, but who did it and why?

>5 Sergeirocks: >6 Carol420: Carol I second your Wow! Great thinking Sergei and you are dead right if it was a simple case of poisoning the deaths would have been at different and incremental timings. I thought it was more than just poisoning but couldn’t figure what had caused it. 🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏
Watch out everybody the COD is on top form!

Steady on, guys, this is only a theory about the 'pulse', :D - I don't know how it could possibly have been worked. I could totally be barking up the wrong tree; though I do stand by my comment on the timings, so can't see it being poison.

>9 Andrew-theQM: In answer to you question...yes. But they don't sound like dogs they sound like large squirrels. I don't think I have ever seen one bark up a tree though. Our little meerkat is special:)
