April 22 is Sunday, which may be easiest for anyone out of town, but that is also Reba's arrival date, so I don't know. The rest are weekdays, so maybe dinner and Powell's in the evening? We will have to wait for more info from RRR. Her first priority is going to be the arrival of a new grandson and seeing other family members. : )

The organizers of my June meeting in PDX sent out a preferred date survey today. All of them are in the twenty-somethings.

And... if folks from out of town are coming into Portland I will do my best to be there. June 21 - 24 are out of the question but otherwise I will prioritize any PDX meet up over all other forms of entertainment.

Thursday July 5 -- with BLBera/Beth

Deschutes at 5:30? (I should be out of jury duty by then. Yes, I got called, again, and they chose the day after the Fourth of July. Sigh.) And then Powell's after?

We arrive late Friday evening and depart late Monday afternoon. The actual party isn't scheduled yet but looks like it will be Saturday (they mentioned a women's march scheduled for Sunday that might be a logistical problem). I'm pretty sure Monday morning/early afternoon would work. Sunday a possibility.

I'm really excited I may get to see you guys again. I was thinking it would be great to meet-up but didn't mention it because I thought a holiday weekend (especially when I'm somewhat committed) probably wouldn't be possible.

112SuziQoregon
Ene 7, 2019, 10:40 am

I don't have Monday off work so Sunday would work best for me but if the Women's march is that day it could be problematic. If Monday ends up working best for you guys that's OK.

What about Sunday at the Powell's in Beaverton? Not the Mother Ship of course but . . . .

113banjo123
Ene 7, 2019, 11:00 am

Actually, the women’s march is rescheduled so Sunday could work. Another thought if we want to do something different is Molly Bloom’s. Though I do have a Powell’s gift card.

If the March isn't going to be happening that makes Sunday a better option. I've also got Powell's gift cards but another bookstore could be fun too. Do you mean Annie Bloom's?

Just heard from our daughter and the birthday party is Saturday noon so either Sunday or Monday is fine with me. I'll have a car so any location is OK as well.

This ay be a duplicate post, but the first try is not posting yet....Sunday would be great! Yes, it is Annie Blooms Bookstore. I have a slight preference for Powell's but can go either way.

Just tossing out an alternative to the usual Deschutes Brewery . . .
Jake’s Grill is 3 1/2 blocks from Powell’s and they have a fairly varied weekend brunch menu.

OK, I am good with either Jake's or Deschutes, or.... Jake's is a little pricier. What do you think, Kim and Reba?

Either one if fine with me. I checked out the menu link and there was plenty that looked good and I think we met at Deschutes last time and I liked it too. Just let me know when and where to show up :)

Let's try Jake's just to change things up a little. When should we meet for lunch? 11:30?

11:30 or even 11am works for me since we're going someplace kind of brunchy. I'll make a reservation once we decide.

11 or 11:30 sounds great to me. It would be great if Jenn (KnittNut) could join us. I've never met her but have followed her for several years. I'm getting so excited!!

OK - I've made us a reservation for 11am on Sunday the 20th at Jake's Grill.
I reserved a table for 6 in case Jenn or Jan can make it. I can always modify the reservation later if we end up with fewer people.

Even though you can't see me, I am sitting here with my head hanging low. I think there is a curse on me to prevent me from making these meet-ups! A very old friend from Australia let me know that she is passing through the area on Sunday and Monday and will be staying with me. Of course I am happy to see her, but I had been very excited about the meet-up.

Raise a glass to me to lift the curse and scout out lots of good books at Powell's.
