Think I'll stick with the 3.5. I'm not a fan of Erika, she makes life too difficult for herself. Not too many likeable characters in this series - apart from Isaac, perhaps.

I'll "buck the system" here and go to 4. It wasn't a bad book overall and I believe that if Bryndza tones down the disrespect on Erika's part for the protocol that she is expected to follow and the disrespect for his officers carrying out those protocols that Oakley and to some degree Marsh has...he may have a winner in this series.

I've given this some considered thought and enjoyed the feel of the book enough to give it a 4.0 but only just! With a few minor tweaks this series could easily get a 5 star rating. Looking forward to seeing if there are any 'developments' of the character Erika in the next book.

I'm also going to stay at 3.5. It was a good read but there were too many annoying factors that took me out of the read - Erika's insubordination, Stephen's behavior - and then there's the issue that we knew the killer was Simone as soon as we met her.

We have one participant that either hasn't finished the book or is no longer participating...so without that rating our overall rating is 3.67. Our overall rating for The Girl in The Ice was 3.89 but we had one participant more for that one.
