What did you think to the sterilisation plot the group had devised? Do you think this is the real plot?

It probably wasn't the real plot but it would be something that might work along with whatever they are really up to...killing two birds with one stone.

I don't think it was their real focus but they have a philosophy that would make that a positive thing.

Sterilization would certainly match their motives.

The way I'm looking at it, this was the original vision of the founder of the cult, but the new heads (the Severances) have their own agenda.

it's consistent with the "core values" of the group, but I don't think it's really what is driving Thom and Heidi...late in the section, someone (Kovac?) commented/thought about all the "cruise ships full of rich people". I think this is possibly a blackmail or eugenics scheme.

I think this is the core purpose to ensure that humans cannot give birth to new inhabitants of earth but also feel there will be another virus which will kill a lot of the human population.
