Toast the Armistice

If only we had a current Armistice to toast. Any patriotic suggestions? Garnished with a poppy?

I was just wondering about a Veterans' Day cocktail.

Since Veterans' Day is also (appropriately enough) my anniversary, I generally celebrate with champagne. But I'll give some thought to other options.

I just pour two single malts. One to toast and honor my brethren with, the other to sit on the bar for those who cannot be there.

The following have been suggested to me:

The Veteran
Dark rum and cherry brandy

Cafe de Paris
gin, anisette, egg white, heavy cream

The Angry German
in a shot glass
amaretto, blackberry schnapps, Jaegermeister, Rose's sweetened lime juice, salt and ice

Patriotic Blow
in a shot glass
sloe gin, blue curacao, whipped cream

Frenchie
cognac, Grand Marnier
