Love historical outdoor adventure books !
Some read lately:
"A Voyage Down The Yukon", 1988, long canoe trip
"My First Two Years in the Fur Trade", early
1800's Canada.
"Adventures In The Wilderness", camp life in the
Adirondacks, 1869.
"Brutal Journey", Cabeza de Vaca's survival in Florida
to Mexico trek early 1500's.

Nah, real life action adventure, somewhat akin.

You mean you suspect the authors of making a lot of it up? Like the travel tales of Bruce Chatwin?
