I have The Prestige by Christoper Priest ordered from the library. Will you join me?

I already obtained it through Bookmooch, read it and sent it on its merry way more than a year ago, but I'll be following this :)

I have it on my TBR shelf, it will be by my reading chair in September.

I read this a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The film is different to the book which means both can be enjoyed as separate entities and you are not going to have ruined the story in the book by having watched the film. I look forward to how everyone enjoys the book.

I listened to this on audio a few years back. The ending wasn't part of the movie and was super creepy. I was listening to it at night, when my husband was working late *shivers*

I'd really like to read along with this one, but my local library network doesn't seem to have a copy. Will go trawling the second-hand shops! (any excuse, ahem)

I'm going to read along - I've been saving the copy I bought earlier this year (or was it last?).

Well, this book grabbed me good within the first few pages. Loving the atmosphere, looking forward to the ride.

Hurray! Found a copy in Fara Books - I can join in!

(*cough* and I didn't in any way get tempted into 2 other books... ah, who am I kidding? Of course I did :)

I'm really struggling to put this down, and having seen the film is absolutely no antidote to my absorption as the book is sufficiently different. I'm now avoiding the 'Spoilers' thread as I feel I can get 'spoilt', which I wasn't expecting!

About half way through already (having started last night, and gone to sleep much later than intended), and about to tackle the ?first Angier POV. But I really must must go do some jobs first...

Thanks Morphidae - this is the perfect response to my last read (Acceptance by Vandermeer), which was well-executed but frustrating and felt like wading through treacle!

I haven't seen the movie so am definitely avoiding the spoilers thread! I'm about 2/3 into the book and completely gripped and intrigued. I don't even find stage magic that interesting, but the mysteries surrounding the two men and their descendents are just so interesting. Great stuff.
