Happy New Year to everyone :)

Reading something interesting? Doing something interesting?

Or is everyone in their 30s too busy with work and school to even post here? :)

This IS a quiet group, isn't it?

Anyway...Happy New Year to you too! (Belatedly!)

I was off in Newport, RI - did the Polar Bear Plunge yesterday :) Figured I'd start off 2012 with something bold and crazy!

Happy New Year to both of you! I'm a third of the way through Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy and am thankful for the additional reading time this holiday break. I know that as 2012 cranks up my time-to-read allotment will shrink.

*raises head* New Year? Already?

I've had myself buried in my writing, trying to find a paying publication that will take it. Got a non-paying publication credit this past fall. Yeah!

I was out of town and away from the internet. Now I am back in the land of LibraryThing.

>2 beatlemoon:

I almost checked again if it is 30-something or 130-something. *chuckle*

>3 trav:

It is weird - I had been talking about this book with a friend the other day. Any good?

>4 gilroy:

Congrats! :) As long as it is published... (yeah, yeah, I know )

>5 reconditereader:

Lucky you

>6 AnnieMod: I like it a lot. The book pulls a ton of Bonhoeffer's thinking and writings into it, so you can really get a sense of what motivates such a unique person. The only thing is that the author seems really taken with Bonhoeffer. At times he almost seems to "gush", but I can live with that as I'm pretty taken by everything Bonhoeffer did.

It is a big book, which is a shame, as I know it will prevent a lot of folks from picking it up. I do recommend it.

Thanks. On the Mount TBR it goes (kindle edition is 7.99 just now so could not resist).

>8 AnnieMod: that's a good price! I just scrolled through your "About Me" no doubt you will have a much different perspective than I have. I hope you'll review and share your thoughts when you get around to cresting the top of Mount TBR.

When I get to it -- I am trying to review everything I read these days (does not always work right but oh well... I am trying) :)
