BOOK SUGGESTIONS NEEDED!!

Hey I'm looking for a book like percy jackson, but not a rip off. I also liek the spiderwick books. Modern fairy tales basically.

Hi Cara - have you tried Joan Aiken and Diane Wynne Jones? They both write intelligent fantasy books aimed at children (but you can read them at any age). Try Wolves of Wlloughby Chase by Joan Aiken or Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones which is based on the Tam Linn legend.

I don''t know if you know, but the Percy Jackson series is sort-of continued with the Heroes of Olympus series. Same world, different characters. Also, Rick Riordan has a new series called The Kane Chronicles, which is in the same genre as the Percy Jackson series but with Egyptian mythology and magicians instead of half-bloods.

As for a new author, I've always like the Wizard series by Diane Duane, starting with So You Want to be a Wizard. It's similar to Percy Jackson, but a little more technical/realistic and no mythology.

Yes I am aware I own that book thanks though.
