To be completely fair let me first say that Jaws is my favorite movie. Thus, the book couldn't possibly live up to my inflated expectations. I did enjoy the more intimate portrayal of the characters and town life that monopolized the beginning of the book but I really feel the ending was rushed. This is the place where the movie really seemed superior using the isolation of the hunt to build suspense and also as a platform to flesh out the main characters. Finally, and I hate to say it, but can Jaws really be Jaws without the soundtrack? ( )
