Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this cookbook. This cookbook, Kneaders Bakery & Cafe, is focused on the same named place ran by the author and her husband. I've never heard of this place nor eaten there, but it does sound like it has amazing food. Now, there are many recipes in this book that look absolutely delicious and I'd love to make myself. That's the positive here. But - and this is a personal thing - the stories were a bit much for me. I love that this family wants to share their history, but I grew tired of reading so much about them and not the recipes that I started skipping around it all. Another thing is that some of the recipes call for Kneaders bread or some other item that only Kneaders has, but there wasn't a recipe for it, so we could make it ourselves. That's a little frustrating. I feel this cookbook will be fine for those who eat at Kneaders, live in that area, know the family, or don't mind cookbooks with more backstories of the author than of actual recipes. ( )

If you are looking for the perfect cookbook to prepare for upcoming family gatherings, this is it! For many years Kneaders Bakery has been a staple for families all across the Southwest. As they celebrate their 25th anniversary, the Worthington family is sharing some of their favorite recipes.

In this beautiful recipe book, there’s an inspiring history of how the restaurant chain got started as well as fun stories behind the recipes. The gorgeous illustrations & delicious recipes make this a must have.

👩‍🍳The cookbook is divided into the following sections:

Breakfast foods
Salads
Sandwiches
Soups
Drinks
Breads
Dips & Spreads
Stuffings & Croutons
Cakes & Trifles
Cookies & Bars
Pies & Puddings
Sweets & Treats

Along with step by step instructions are tasty tips to help even the most seasoned cook. I especially loved the soup, bread, cake, and cookie recipes. I can’t wait to try even more.

Definitely one to add to your cookbook collection. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided. ( )

I’ve enjoyed going to the Kneaders Bakery and Café near me. Their food is wonderful and their bakery goods are always yummy. When I saw this book offered on NetGalley with the story of their bakery along with many recipes, I couldn’t resist getting it. I’m quite certain I’ll be purchasing a print copy when it releases. I’ve read through a lot of the story behind the Kneaders stores and the people who’ve been instrumental in the success of their chain. It was very interesting to get that background. I haven’t tried the recipes yet, but I have some I’m going to be trying very soon. Some of them I’ve enjoyed in the store and some are family recipes that I haven’t seen offered there. The Raspberry Bread Pudding is one of my favorites, and I plan on making some of the bread and soups, too. I’m sure I’ll be using this frequently.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from Shadow Mountain Publishers through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. ( )
