My library contains not only my own published books but about one thousand books (both hardback and paperback) by various fiction and non-fiction authors whose work appeals to me an my husband.

An avid early reader, I decided at the age of eight that someday I would become a fiction writer. After many sporadic attempts at novel writing during my high school and college years, my literary efforts ceased for almost ten years while I concentrated on being a teacher, wife and mother. It was teaching in the upper elementary grades that influenced my decision to try to write for children. My first book for young people came out in 1964 and my forty fourth book for young people was published in September 2009.
