Mainly literature.

Once I read works of literature for their literary value. And I got fat and lazy doing that. Now I’m reading more to find ways that they open up spaces for the Spirit to hover.

This paraphrase of Paul Simon's 'Call me Al' captures best my middle-aged relationship to books:

A man picks up a book and reads:
He thinks why am I so soft in the middle
He says why am I short of attention span
He asks what is this story in a strange world?
He is surrounded by the words
He sees angels in the literature
Opening the infinity…
He says Amen and Hallelujah!

I also write as Nehemiah Blake. He is an alter ego. Nehemiah Blake’s debut book 'The Dream Vision' will be published by White Owl Press in July this year.
