waste of time (1), go get it right now. You won't be sorry if you are a book lover like me. (1), Wonderful book on the Civil War if you havent' read it and like history. Amazing stuff! (1), got it. Anything else? (1), dead bodies and more dead bodies. After about 100 pages of dead bodies I got bored. Did he ever write about anything else? I got the picture after about 25 pages. Nothing but dead bodies and no one cared. Ok (1), What a fantastic book this was. I learned so much about exploration of the Amazon. What a bunch of crazy guys. Why would men (women would not) go to places where they know they will have poison darts blown at them or they will get eaten or have their head (1), Started it. Got to where they have to leave the ranch and stopped reading it. Does it get better? (1), I little convaluted (sp?) (1), This book sounded so good when I read the back cover but it was one of those that SOUNDS good. It was ok. (1), Hated it just like I hated The Kite Runner. Can that man write one word that isn't tragic? It's not that I don't understand the reality of situations but please.....can he write one single happy word? Remind me never to read another book by him..........I (1), I wanted to cry. If you didn't read it (1), Dead bodies (1), I close friend gave me The Tender Bar and I had never heard of it. What a wonderful memoir and what an excellent writer. I laughed (1), what a tragic yet hella funny book. I read it and then quickly read it again. (1), This is one of the best books I've ever read. I didn't know much about the Germans invading the Soviet Union and knew nothing of the blockade of Leningrad or was it Stalingrad? Anyway (1), the end. (1), like I said (1), especially since I had just finished The Piano Lesson. I liked the book a lot until (1), Loved this book until it got kind of "hooky" at the end. It was very interesting (1), I LOVED this book. I learned more about the Japanese invasion of China than I ever knew before plus....what characters. Very engaging. I didn't want to put it down. In fact I don't think I did! (1), I don't know about this one. I couldn't get into it. It just talked and talked about animals. I love WW2 books but can someone tell me if this gets better before I give it back to the library? (1), Stupid book (1)
