Sobre mi biblioteca
My library has just been added to through the friendship and love of books in which this site delights.
I have received a Virago Secret Santa treasure trove from dear Christina all so beautifully gift wrapped.

Thank you dear Christina for such thoughtful gifts – you know my interests and reading so well and I was truly blessed!
Russell Braddon’s Nancy Wake: SOE’s greatest Heroine is set in France during WW11 and the dedication includes a sentence from the heroine herself. The Shutter of Snow by Emily Holmes Coleman is a novel written around post partum psychosis. Emily was of course a prominent American in the 1920s Parisian literary scene. Do I sense a French theme developing here!
Next up was a gently loved Virago – The Winged Horse by Pamela Frankau. And then there was a truly mouth - watering book which is not only a travel journal or a history book. A Time to Keep Silence by Patrick Leigh Fermor looks a delight. The author recounts his journeying through Europe reflecting upon some of Eirope’s oldest and most venerable monasteries …. and the gifts they give to modern life.
Following the travel theme I then unwrapped a beautiful edition of Forbidden Journey by Ella M Maillart So I will be off to Peking, Siam et al to places simply unknown in the 1930s all in the company of this amazing and courageous lady Ella Maiilart.
Finally and for my spare time in between reading these delicious books there was The Cooking of Southwest France by Paula Wolfert!

Christina dearest thank you so very much – you know me so well. What a joy and a pleasure is such friendship.
