I am the author of nine books including a book of short stories, Road to Paradise and Norman Nicholson's Lakeland, a prose anthology.

For five years I was a sub-editor in Fleet Street on the foreign desk at the Daily Telegraph. I worked as an English teacher in Sweden and spent seven months walking round Spain and Portugal.
