Most of my books are non-fiction. I began reading these subjects out of necessity rather than curiosity because I had an unusual experience that threw me for a loop when I was 18 years old. Over the years, my search for answers did develop into amazement, curiosity and a passion for learning. As much as I never did find a "reasonable" explanation for that unnerving experience, I did find a treasure trove of ideas, information and possibilities that I feel has enhanced and enriched my life. Any book with a five star rating means that it stimulated me to wonder or to think.
I do spend most of my reading time, reading non-fiction but occasionally, I will read fiction. I enjoy mystery novels, no doubt a bit of nostalgia from my teens when I devoured every book Agatha Christy ever wrote. I also like the occasional science fiction, if it is either witty, unique, insightful or uplifting.
Of course, what library is complete without the how to books. I have yet to include these books but I will list the ones that I have found useful in relationship to drawing, cooking, photography, playing the ukulele, carving wood, gardening, decorating, sewing, and construction etc. We all need our hobbies and outlets and some instructional books are better than others.
