Introducción

La Biblioteca del Recinto de Carolina es una unidad adscrita a la Vicerrectoría de Recursos de Información. Es responsable de adquirir, organizar, desarrollar, preservar y promover los recursos bibliográficos en distintos formatos para el recinto principal así como para sus Centros Universitarios en Barceloneta Cabo Rojo, Santa Isabel, Yauco y Arecibo. Éstas poseen las nuevas tecnologías de información y comunicación, así como personal capacitado para orientar al usuario en la búsqueda, recuperación y manejo de información. El Servicio al Público se divide en las áreas de Referencia, Revistas, Circulación y Reserva. Estas áreas se complementan además con: Desarrollo de Colecciones, CentroTecnológico Comunitario, Sala de Destrezas de Información e Investigación y Oficina Administrativa.

Introduction
The Library at the Carolina Center is a unit affiliated with the Vice Chancellorship of Information Resources. It is responsible for the acquisition, organization, development, preservation and promotion of information resources in a variety of formats for the main center, as well as the University Centers located in CaboRojo, Barceloneta, Santa Isabel, Yauco and Arecibo. These centers possess the latest in communication and information technologies; furthermore, they are staffed with the personnel capable of providing orientation to our users in the search, retrieval and management of information. Service to our patrons is provided by the areas of Reference, Periodicals, Circulation and Reserve. These are further complemented by: Collection Development, the Community Technological Center, the Information Skills and Research Room, and the Administrative offices.
