Sobre mí

The mission of the Women’s Community Center (WCC) is to be a place for Longhorns of all genders to connect, find resources, and get support around experiences of intersectionality, community, and gender solidarity. The WCC functions as a central hub, providing personalized guidance to individual students and student organizations. It serves as a welcoming space for students to connect, fostering a sense of community on campus. The center’s staff offers support and advice, addressing students’ concerns effectively. In collaboration with various campus and community organizations, the WCC ensures that all UT students can access essential resources and support services. This comprehensive approach aims to empower students, enabling them to excel academically while navigating the challenges of a large campus. The center’s goal is to foster a strong sense of connection among Longhorns and with the university at large.

Access and Disability Accommodations (ADA) Descriptions: The Women’s Community Center (WCC) is located in the William C. Powers Jr, Student Activity Center (WCP) in Suite 2.112. This building is in the center of campus, right off a major pedestrian-only route, and can be hard to access, as there are only a few buses that pick up and drop off in that area. The WCP building itself has multiple elevators, and 3 gender-inclusive & accessible bathrooms, the closest being WCP 2.116 which is right across the hall from the WCC. There are ample chairs of multiple sizes in the WCC, as well as a couch.

Parking: Unfortunately, free parking is extremely limited near UT’s campus. We encourage our guests to carpool or take public transit if possible. The two closest garages are Brazos and San Jacinto, there is information about their rates here. The Triangle park and ride, 13 TRIANGLE, 4600 Guadalupe St. is about 20 minutes away, with travel on the bus and a ten-minute walk from the stop.
