LLL is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organisation founded in 1956. It exists to help and encourage mothers to breastfeed their babies. LLLGB is a registered charity affiliated to La Leche League International - the world's largest source of breastfeeding information.

LLL Leaders are ordinary mums who have enjoyed nursing their children and who have received training as breastfeeding counsellors.
