I own lots of animal books (non fiction), children's picture books, and some MG, YA and adult fiction. I most enjoy the fantasy genre (e.g. Tolkien, Le Guin, Susan Cooper and Anthony Ryan). I also love The Book Thief, and the works of Tim Winton and Charles Dickens.

I have been interested in animals and stories ever since I can remember. As a child, I loved reading Enid Blyton stories including The Hobbit and Charlotte's Web.

I studied Zoology at university, and worked as a zookeeper for ten years.

I was constantly saving up for the next backpacking trip overseas, and have been lucky to have visited parts of Africa, Asia, South America, Europe and, of course, Australia.

I write children's non fiction, fiction and poetry; mainly about animals and nature.

I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my husband and daughter.
