The library collection owned by the Genealogical Society of South Brevard (GSSB) is located in the Family History Room within the Melbourne Public Library (Melbourne, Florida). The GSSB holds close to 7,000 media publications currently in our library of various historical, genealogical, and geographical focus. We continue to slowly add resources primarily used for education and research by genealogists and family historians. As this is a research library, we do not check-out or loan materials, but offer research space for use by our patrons within the Family History Room, along with web access through the Brevard County Library System in Melbourne, Florida. Our volunteers can also do some look-up services on request through our society email if it does not detract from their time with patrons. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Genealogical Society of South Brevard (GSSB) helps anyone interested in the study, discovery, and documentation of family history, lineage, and ancestry. We are committed to providing literary, educational, and research opportunities, support and resources to our members and the public. GSSB owns and operates an extensive genealogy research library collection located in the Family History Room within the Melbourne Public Library in Melbourne, Florida. We also provide monthly educational programs, workshops, seminars, and research classes, and offer access to several subscription research websites for patrons in the Family History Room.
