A repetitive nursery rhyme captures the noisy antics of the familiar farmyard animals, in an amusing poem that comes complete with sing-along, easy-to-play music for guitar and piano.

Jakki Wood uses rhyming, bright illustration, and counting throughout her book. These are great ways to get students engaged in reading. One bear sets out on a walk where he meets more bears. Young readers can count the bears throughout the book. They can even play hide-and-seek with the bears found hiding in the woods. This is a cute children's book and great to use as a writing model.

This book teaches children about old construction and why it happens. The thing I liked most about the book is how education is really was. I would recommend ages 3-6 read this book, depending on their individual reading level.½

H really likes this book and I feel like we've read it a million times. There are really many other books about road construction that are better than this one. The biggest issue I have is that every image is from the same perspective and as a result it is hard to see what the workers are doing... The road already looks flat when the steam roller rolls over it for example. I feel like I have to try to compensate for this each time we read it.

A counting book that will engage the young reader with its catchy rhythm and silly bears. Gets the kids involved in finding the bears when they play hide and seek.

This book is primarily interesting because the illustrations are pictures of sewn felt. Tiger kitten goes around the farmyard meeting all the animals and saying boo to them until he finally says boo to the goose- and regrets it.

From jellyfish to tuna, from sharks to whales, sea creatures abound in this illustrated book. A toy boat is launched on a Californian beach and bobs along ocean currents, past the giant kelp forests of the Pacific, past Australasian coral reefs and the Cape of Good Hope.

A wonderful picture book for preschoolers who love cars and trucks. The text is very English and needs some adult translation for North American children. (refuse lorry, caravan, petrol tanker, estate car). The pictures follow a long line of cars, trucks, bicycles and so on who are waiting in a traffic jam, until at the end we discover the reason for the delay. Some funny details and continuing sub-stories add interest for repeat readings. MANY repeat readings!
