It seems this is just the first part of a YA sci-fi series since it doesn't end with anything more than a giant hook to go on to the next installment. To me, a book has to be something special to get away with leaving its readers hanging and this one is not. On Goodreads it didn't have a '1' after the title and there was nothing in its blurb about it being a series. If I had known, I would never have entered the GR giveaway for it in the first place.
