A sad story of a lady who, rightly or wrongly, felt rejected in her youth and seems to be incapable of finding happiness. I would very much like to read a biography of Barbara to get a balanced view of how she was seen by others: I found it very difficult from this tome to work out when she was wronged, and when/if she was putting a spin upon events for which she was the cause.
