This is a first person account of the creation of the Sandstone Retreat which was created in the 1960’S as an alternative lifestyle centre. While it does contain some graphic depictions of sex, they all became a bit repetitive after a while and the more interesting part involves the story of the couple’s long-lasting relationship.

While Mrs. Williamson has indeed had an extraordinary life, the format and editing in this book was AWFUL. I can only think that the co-author who helped her put this book together let her down immensely. The organization of the story made no sense, constantly restating entire segments with almost the same words constantly. From its wall to wall mattresses in the main ball room to cavorting in the indoor pool with the hunky firemen that helped preserve their home from a wildfire John and Barbara epitomized the life style they eschewed, peace and harmony. I was a little disappointed to not have more name dropping of the famous film stars that cavorted around Sandstones grounds since Barbara openly boasts about them; I wanted a tell-all. It is definitely a fascinating look at another life-style from a by-gone era.… (más)

Seemed more like a standard horror story than anything Holmesian to me, but maybe I'm missing something.
