Of the books I've written, this is my favorite because of the personalities of the main characters. Jim is a bartender, ex-CIA operative/vet who still has flashbacks about past missions; Neil is a movie-loving detective who hates it when people stereotype him as an Irishman because of his name and red hair. The other characters are just as interesting. There's a former CO who still has mental problems from his time as a POW locked in a tiger cage, as well as a shady CIA agent who has as many pseudonyms as weapons at his disposal. All come together in this book about a man who goes a little too far in his dislike of the IRS.

Although I published this relatively recently, I wrote TAX BREAK back in 1991. However, the issues in the book--from the IRS problems to the US spying on Canada--still ring true today. I like to tell my friends that I just have an amazing ESP ability, but in truth, I really think that history just has a habit of repeating itself.… (más)

If you want a short, funny book that you can easily complete on a cross-country flight, then you should buy SEX and the AMERICAN MALE. I wrote this for many reasons: it's an ode to Douglas Adams; I wanted to make fun of how advertising overwhelms our society; greed obsessed corporations may one day make life here really unbearable (see Zack's vacation, CH V); politics is absolutely bonkers here in the US. However, my main goal was to create a book that could be a quick read and that would bring a wry smile to the reader's face. I hope that I have achieved that and that maybe you'll catch a few fellow passenger's attention as you giggle at the goofy situations that befall Zack. Oh, and no fair checking out the "Clif Notes" at the back before reading the whole book.… (más)
