A boring read. While grammatically correct and we'll structured, it reads more like an encyclopedia article. I'm also astonished that the naivete the couple show when they first become Mormons continue as they coonvert to Christianity. I get it when they joined in the 70s, readily accessible contradictory information was not available at their fingertips. But to jump into another religion without due process only shows a continued naivete that borders on stupidity. They are, again, relying on only one source - the rereading of the New Testament - without broadening their exposure to text that disagree with or analyze that source.… (más)

I am not an evangelical Christian so I am not this book's target audience. I picked it up at the library because I grew up a non-Mormon in a predominantly Mormon area, and I am always fascinated by stories of people leaving the LDS church and community. For all those reasons, I found this a fascinating read. The end of the book and sections sprinkled throughout are exclusively about converting LDS folks to "real" Christianity (aka evangelical Protestantism) which was pretty valueless to me, but the memoir pieces were very interesting and engaging.… (más)
