Clearly Ms. West read Novik's Spinning Silver. I don't mind reading something inspired by another work and was willing to go along with it until the fifth time I rolled my eyes after seeing full lines of dialogue lifted from the previous novel. Honestly, save your time and read the original. It has much richer world building, a more complex plot, and character decisions that aren't made unbelievable by Ms. West's attempt to truncate a much larger work into a third as many pages.… (más)

I'm going middle of the road for this with 3 stars as I would 5 star some but tbh some I would 2 star.

I do not want to name names so will leave this as a general review. I have read every story in this anthology and I loved the concept, but some stories seemed edited, polished and finished and some didn't. They felt rushed, unedited and incomplete.

The concept and idea of Taking a Chance on love, drew me in and given the opportunity to arc read and overall I did enjoy the book.

These 17 authors all came together to raise funds for AIDS healthcare, so grab this as you might find a gem or a new author to read.… (más)

Non l'ho apprezzato molto... l'idea poteva essere anche carina ma il risultato... proprio no.
Tutto il libro è dominato dal non-con più totale. Un povero ragazzo che viene preso e trasformato in un "pet", un sottomesso per il lupo/maschio alpha della situazione. Nonostante Marco "straveda" a detta sua per il caro compagno Nicky passa la metà del suo tempo a dargli ordini e costringerlo a fare quello che vuole con la scusa del "se non lo fai rischi la vita"
Anche volendo passare sopra il dub con (che caratterizza la serie) non mi è piaciuto il rapporto tra i due protagonisti. Non ho visto amore e complicità, non ho visto rispetto e parità ma solo un tizio alpha che vuole dominare e che non ascolta nulla e nessuno. Un vero peccato e un inizio di serie che sicuramente scoraggerà i più. Non mi sento di consigliarvelo...… (más)
