In The Whole Parent, Debra Wesselmann examines the attachment of parent and child in the earliest years. Her review of the research literature leads her to believe that these early experiences form the basis of our ability to trust and feel secure. Her clinical experience as well as her personal experience as a mother of five lead her to believe that those parents who were raised with inadequate parental attachment can overcome it and be loving supportive parents. Selected Reading Questionnaire.
