This was actually not at all bad.

This sort of first year textbook has the potential to be deathly dull; and it certainly had its flaws, from the attempt to open each chapter with a trendy vignette from the politics of 1996 to the sometimes blatant attempts to avoid controversy; but all things considered it did a fine job of explaining US goverment to me in fairly substantial detail and in a somewhat interesting manner.½
