Jane Baird Warren

A beautifully written and immersive novel set in the 1980s that delves into the historical background of a number of human rights issues stretching all the way back to the 1930s in Canada. Each of these issues still resonate today and Jane Baird Warren is to be credited for weaving it all together so seamlessly. I love the dual narratives of Lizzie and David -- both voices are spot-on and engaging. What I love most about this novel is that the author respects the intelligence of young her reader.
