Smith, by Emily Smith Warner, with Hawthorne Daniel (read 9 Aug 2002) Though I usually avoid biographies by family members, this was enjoyable since his daughter played an active role in her father's political life and so had information first-hand which others could not have. It was a good book, though I was dismayed by her seeming agreement with her father's course after 1932 politically--though I suppose one must not be surprised since she is her father's daughter.½
