Rarely do i read a book where i am so disappointed that it ended that i wished on everything holy that it was the size of the bible,or the torah as the case may be here, to make it one heck of an epic read.
I understand that it's the first in a series but, gee whiz, i wanted more NOW. (not stamping my feet but you know what i mean) I was entranced.

Gigi lead an idyllic childhood in France, loved by her parents adored by her Pepere, educated and excelling in the best school and surrounded by dear friends. At first the changes were subtle, but eventually the full force of the Nazi takeover was felt and the Carriton family flees to the countryside for safety.

Other reviewers give more details so i will refrain. Read, and turn those pages fast enough and you'll feel your own heart palpitate in fear, feel those tense moments of what if?, the sadness of loss, the joy of love, the grabbing of every second of good that life has to offer.
