The content presented is both important and enlightening to those who struggle to formulate conversations. However, if you don't, most of the information here is already known and quite obvious.

Past this, I found several issues with the book. These include:

- Several grammatical errors that use improper word forms.
- Several instances of broken English.
- Reduency, redundancy, redundancy. The author repeats himself many times throughout the book, often in the same section for no reason other than to bulk out the book.
- Formatting issues, like subchapter titles not being emboldened/enlarged to match with the others presented.

With all of that in mind, this made the text a difficult read, mainly due to my inability to see past all of its flaws. The author should consider buying a Grammarly Premium subscription for his next release. Not to be rude, but... seriously?

Anyway, did it help me? We will see. I took notes, and I will keep his techniques at the back of my mind.

I do like books about Zen and i've read a great many throughout my life: so where does this one stack up?

I really enjoyed it.   Ian has a very approachable style of writing and digs into all aspects of Zen, mostly for the beginning practitioner; but i would also suggest that this is a great book for the Zen curious who have no interest, whatsoever, in pursuing a practice; or for those who maybe just want to dabble a little and see if it's for them.   And it's also a good book for those of us who practice alone, either due to where we live or other circumstances, but need a little support and/or guidance occasionally.

It's verily worth the 99p i paid in a Kindle sale.

My only criticism is that there's a fair few typos that a bit of mindfulness in the proof reading would have prevented which, to be honest, i found rather amusing considering the topic of this book.

Less about EQ, more about internal self.

The Emotional Intelligence focus of this book is mainly on changing the reader’s internal thoughts and feelings from a mental, almost spiritual perspective. Things like: “Close your eyes and see the color and location of the feeling you experienced.”

The grammar and jokes are also a little awkward or off at times.
