This is a catalogue published for an exhibition to commemorate the Fortieth Anniversary of the Seattle Art Museum.

Highlighting a range of pieces in the Asiatic collection, from Chinese to Japanese to Indian art, this catalogue aims to provide a practical and instructive survey of the major traditions of Asiatic art as reflected in this collection.

This illustrated handbook was created in order to make more accessible, to the general public, interested students, and a larger number of scholars, the contents of The Royal Ontario Museum's Far Eastern Collection.

The publication, authored by curator of the ROM Henry Trubner, highlights aspects of the collection by country, beginning with Chinese sculpture, ceramics, lacquer and paintings, and then describing objects in the collection from Japan, Korea and India.
