An interesting concept with a slightly shallow execution. The story sets up a lot of points that are promising (such as a magical bond with a dragon, and a young girl training to become a knight) but the writing sort of just skims the surface of things and the result makes everything seem super easy, even low stakes. I'm enjoying this a little more then the light novel series, possibly because Fia seems less... obliviously dim here? Her energy and enthusiasm, as well as naivety is charming when its shown.

Okay possibly my fav volume so far - QUENTIN IS THE BEST. Also...Fia is 15, they've said this a lot, I'm a little... bothered that all the Knight Captains are (at least) 25 and yet seem perfectly fine with insinuating romance with Fia??

Continuing the fun trend, Fia completely misses the point. It flies by her so often her familiar, Zavilia seems at a loss how to deal with it so he just...sleeps. A lot.
