Confusing restart as I've not read Superman regularly since the 1990s. Still, a very fascinating & fun exploration of Clark & Lois as parents & heroes & what that means for young Jon/Superboy

Oh so glad the library had this and I didn't pay to read this 3- to 4-part story heavily padded out to 12 issues. Very pretty art, but I'm so unenthused by this (and its failure to even approach its own hype) that I doubt I'll bother to read Vol 2 or 3 unless I find them easily and free...

Batman: Arkham Knight Genesis is an interesting look at the Arkham Knight’s backstory and history (he’s Jason Todd), but I found it lacked an overarching story. I would put spoilers, but there’s really no spoilers to speak of. Not much happens in this. Still a great book though, especially regarding the artwork.

Still remarkable to read a book most notable for a title character's absence, and yet I was unable to put it down. Great reimagining of Two-Face's origin story, stellar art, deep insight into what makes these characters so compelling.

Note: I received access to read this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

House of Penance has some striking artwork and an interesting story. It attempts to have the reader change their mind about irredeemable characters to varying degrees of success, but most of the time it works. I definitely enjoyed Sarah Winchester's character with all her eccentricities in her search for justice

I like Bane. He's larger than life, physically and metaphorically. For some reason he seems more real than the other villains. This spinoff of the Forever Evil event was cool because it was mostly about the villains and what they tried to do once they were all free. But the old "there is no honor among thieves" thing happened and they lost out again.

Eu realmente não esperava algo tão bom como a finalização desse arco. Uma ótima exposição da relação entre pai e filho mais a questão do vigilantismo. Simplesmente Realmente muito bom!

The plot itself is a bit too basic for my tastes, but using Bane as the focal character is effective and brings with it several memorable moments. Bane is not the only well-written villain here -- Penguin shines, as do Killer Croc and Professor Pyg in their more minor appearances. Unfortunately, others are blandly forgettable, like Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze and despite his huge and prominent role, the Scarecrow, and some seem outright off, like Man-Bat and Mad Hatter. I also always dislike the convenience of big events like this parading huge villains as cameos and mindless muscle when that does not fit their personalities at all (Freeze and Ivy are common victims of this, and as are Two-Face and (though not present here) Riddler).

But this is still an enjoyable read, showcasing Bane's complex ambitions and horribly harsh but consistent moral centre, and making decent use of the premise of a Gotham believing the Batman is gone for good.½

Read this as part of the "Rise of Third Army" / "Wrath of the First Lantern" event. It was fun, but all these different color rings seem a little cheesy. Also didn't like the way the First Lantern looked. The story was good though and obviously some huge changes going on in the universe.

I never heard of the Alpha lanterns before, but I did like how devious the Guardians were being getting the regular lanterns to fight with them. I'm digging this event so far.½

The Joker is dead! But as a new day begins in Gotham City, Dangerous new threats emerge and, Bruce Wayne still recovering from his injuries after his fight with The Joker must tend to them.

This graphic novel was absolutely wonderful to read; action, one-liners, The Joker (in a way), Harley Quinn, The Penguin, great art…etc.

Batman must fight terrible villains...well some vicious villains...well these two.

The Joker shows is face in a recorded testamente, demanding his body be returned to Harley Quinn...

Harley is looked up, but Bats, breaks her out to save Gordon's life when he is poisoned.

So she promise him that, she is a changed girl and tells him where the cure is and everything of course goes to hell. Harley Quinn changed? Never!

Instead she align herself with The Penguin...

Right, feeling as nauseous as me now? I do ship odd couples, but Harley smooching The Penguin, no thank you.

Then Fox has some problem...

In Germany...

The Twins are back!

So, that is some of the stuff that went on in this graphic novel. Loved it, looking forward to reading more.

Leave you all with one of my favorite scenes from Batman: Arkham Knight Vol. 1:

I received this copy from the publisher through Edelweiss in return for an honest review! Thank you!

I never read nor heard of Supersons. What drew me was Dynomutt, I kept staring at the cover, because it looked familiar, and then BAM it hit me. That old cartoon on cartoon network.

Anyway this was a mixture of teenage fun and sadness. It is dark at the right times yet it doesn't go overboard with it. I don't know if I'll read the Superson's series on its own, however I am all for Dynomutt continuing.

Solid first issue, hope to get some more characterization and it’s not cliche. So far Robin is mysterious and all about fighting while superboy is calmer and very kid like. The artwork is good too, Robins facial expressions are funny.
