This was a good informational text, though not wonderfully engaging for a younger audience. There are also some great additional resources and books listed in the back. I really wish I could find more child-friendly books about some of the greater war-chiefs. I feel that Native American culture gets so shoved to the background of the whole North American narrative. We discuss Manifest Destiny, and this whole grand design, but not in terms of the human cost in terms of native peoples' lives and livelihoods. When we don't talk about how they fought back, we imply that their removal and relocation was consensual, not forced.

Featuring original Native American artwork and authentic language, Anne Todd's biography on Crazy Horse presents the short life of the brave Sioux Chief. Told from the perspective of the Native Americans, Crazy Horse's childhood, rise to prominence, and untimely demise are chronicled in a vivid fashion.

This was a pretty good biography of Crazy Horse. The Native American stories always make me feel sad.

This is a book in an adventure series. It gives information about caving. The book talks about the first cave explorers all the way to present day cave explorers. It tells about the proper equipment to use and about the dangers that one can face when going caving. It gives some information about people who broke records by diving the furthest into a cave and explorers who discovered important unexplored passages in caves.

The book was okay. It gave good information but very basic. The author uses illustrations in the book. She gives a time line at the end of the book as well as other books to read about caves. She also lists internet sites to explore about some of the caves she mentions in her book. It would be a good book to use in a report. I wish that she would have used some comparisons to better understand how far the distances are in the caves she describes.

This book could be used to supplement a study about how caves form. It gives a chapter about how different types of caves are formed. Students could also use this book to help do a report about caves and famous cave explorers. The time line in the back could be very helpful.
