This book is what will be used to get the students excited about wearing a mask. Students know why we were masks, and this book gets them more excited about it. The book talks about how as kids they can be superheroes by wearing a mask. They are saving lives and protecting others and this is what real superheroes do. The book also talks about how Lucy gets to go play outside now that she gets to wear a mask.
I would use this in my classroom if my students were struggling to keep their masks on. I also found an art project called the mask portrait. I made a lesson plan based off of it and children draw themselves and the fold up the bottom of the paper and draw a mask. This way when the paper is folded, they have their mask on in and when they open their portrait you can see the student that is underneath the mask. This is a good book to introduce big and complex topics without overwhelming your class or overstepping with information outside of their understanding.… (más)
