I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review of the book.

I enjoyed the book and its broken characters. Each of them is a different paranormal, each broken in their way and desperately looking to find resolve in our reluctant witch lead. Though the coupling...er, joining, really, of our characters is predictable, such is the genre itself. But so long as you don't go in expecting the most earth-shattering of fantasy reads, it's an entertaining story.

Our lead has a deep connection with Mother Nature, far surpassing that in other witches. Though we're told this often, we don't yet know why. This bridge has cost Sophie everything she cares for, until she stumbles the various men who appear to be trouble at the onset and grow more tolerant, then downright necessary, as our story progresses.

This is the first book in a series, and while it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it doesn't resolve the overall story either. Looking forward to the next.

Sometimes, I find that the second book in a series fizzles out after any excitement built from the first. That wasn't at all the case here. While many of the relationships had a predictable path, I was a tangle of nerves throughout most of the book as our characters set out to complete Mother Nature's mission, faced unexpected odds, and ultimately found themselves at the mercy of some very interesting twists.

Much like the first book, while the main action of the story comes to a partial conclusion by book's end, this is clearly part of an overall series and won't be seen as altogether satisfying for some. Especially with an ending that has me waiting rather anxiously for the next edition.

I was given a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The ending of book two left so many questions - what had happened to our group of broken souls after Hagan mated with Sophie? How exactly would thing work now? Book 3 didn't disappoint in showing us just how tangled their web could become, in all the delicious ways you can imagine.

Sophie's still coming to terms with the revelation that Mother hasn't been guiding her every move, and our men are trying to determine how they all fit together after that fateful night. While we already knew quite a bit about Cary, this book shed new light on the pasts that led Hagan, Valor and even Jonas to this unexpected family.

This served as a great conclusion to the Savage Possessed series, and I look forward to more September Stone stories in the future.

I loved the Savage Possessed trilogy, and we're back in Twin Rivers with a new group on yet another daunting quest. I love that Stone has taken the best parts of the previous series - the building tension between characters, the misfit-feel of each person within our group, and the way they all learn to match their strengths (and desires!) as one - but still managed to make the story feel like a new adventure.

I loved seeing some of our previous friends, and am excited to see what trouble our fivesome gets into next.… (más)
